Syntonic was tasked by Random House Australia to apply a fresh new design to their public website to better engage readers, teachers and book sellers. As the website makes extensive uses of dynamic content, the Content Management System (CMS) also had to be upgraded, while being simplified for use by non-technical users.
To provide a rich and interactive multimedia experience, the website makes use of Flash and AJAX, while still being compliant with XHTML standards for browser compatability, as well as accessability standards.
The website and CMS also had to be modified for optimal Search Engine rankings (SEO), and programmed to pass data to and from 3rd party APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for processing e-book orders and other systems.
